Chapter Inaugural Address
Formally chartered under the global Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), the student chapter was officially inaugurated on January 31, 2026, marking the beginning of a sustained technical journey focusing on computing fundamentals, research orientation, and student-driven technical leadership at the university.
The chapter was formally inaugurated by Prof. CV Tomy, Dean of the School of Engineering and Sciences, who emphasized the importance of strong foundations, robust academic communities, and global professional associations in shaping future-ready graduates. The ceremony also featured Dr. Murali Krishna Enduri, Head of the Computer Science and Engineering Department, who inaugurated the chapter's first academic initiative and highlighted the relevance of data structures in both academia and industry.
LinkUp Coding: A Linked List Bootcamp
Following the inaugural address, the ACM Student Chapter initiated its first technical workshop: "LinkUp Coding: A Hands-On Linked List Bootcamp." Under the academic guidance of Faculty Convener Dr. Priyanka Singh (Associate Head of CSE) and Faculty Co-Convener Mr. Sreekanth Balijabudda, this full-day masterclass was dedicated to building clarity and confidence in pointer constructs and dynamic memory allocation in C programming.
To sustain engagement, the bootcamp incorporated peer learning tasks including blindfolded coding, pointer matching games, and conceptual guessing tasks inspired by C programming syntax. Winners of these challenges were awarded Pen Drives to appreciate their logical speed. Student coordinators Numair (Vice Chair), Nakshatra, and Malini successfully managed the venues and registration tracks.
